Practical rifle matches are usually limited to .30 caliber with a speed limit of 3150 fps. 338 LM is still used a little bit in ELR matches but I don't think an RPR or Vortex Viper is going to cut the mustard.

You can shoot 100r-142gr, and it is accurate. It is a good caliber if you decide to shoot matches, and does a great job of target shooting out to 1100 yards.
