I've heard a few patches going into Griffin on med 42 from Naugatuck and Beacon Falls units for example, that sound very scratchy due to distance. So that's another plus. Reactions: MedicMike153. The BCD996P2 has a GPS function that makes this easier. However, the BCD536HP allows you to set your location by inputting your zip code or GPS coordinates. The BCD536HP has a slight edge due to the auto-locate feature. This is very useful to have, especially when you have no idea where you are.

Hi thom, I have a BCD996P2 scanner which I have been unable to get to work on CSERN but worked on CSP 800MHz for 10 years flawlessly, and they are still selling all the OLDER Phase 2 type scanners. Tried every option in the book, and them some, with little luck. Can get it to pick a channel then no audio, drops channel and goes back to control channel.I have the CLMRN Troop C site scanning but I am too far away to hear the Campus PD 800mhz relatively low power repeaters.
