Cz 457 vs bergara b14r.
I don't have a Bergara but I shoot CZ 457 and 452's in factory class and use the Sinclair with a slight modification. I epoxied the height/cant adjustment to where it cannot move. I set the rifle level with the leg adjustments. It makes for a very steady platform. For the rear I use either my PQP adjustable rear or a Protektor bunny ear.
my vudoo and cz 457 both prefer good lots of cx, but i have a lot of SK Std thats darn close. But a cz and bergara will be more consistent and easier to shoot in my opinion. Nature of the beast. For a cheaper 700 foot print practice tool short of Vudoo Bergara. But accuracy wise they all shoot about the same minus the Vudoo. I do find the bergara to be easy to shoot well followed my cz or tikka and then the kidd.
The benchrest guys usually want a very light trigger, sometimes lighter than the lowest the Diamond can go (4 oz). The CZ 457 Pro Varmint suppressor ready looks promising, but I've read a few reports that currently produced CZ's might be hit or miss in the accuracy department. The B14 R seems to shoot amazing by all accounts, but the mag seems large and clunky and it does have a 90 degree bolt throw.

The Bergara outperforms the Savage and CZ consistently. However, the Bergara loves Normo Tac-22. Most of the time, I'm 0.35 and lower at 50 yards, I have had 0.22 groups more than once with this rifle. It shoots it so well; I need to run it against some Eley Tenex or Lapua center-X on the same day and compare it.Bolt handle, trigger, extra magazines, BNIB KRG chassis and every single options available included at a gun show for 800 bucks and knew a good friend was looking for one to replace his 1022 for NRL22. Due to the T1x, I don't think I need a BMR for now. Appalachian2. The Bergara B14 won't be legal for Factory class until 1-1-23. Thats correct. I guess I should have worded it a little differently. I like the stock on the MTR much better than the TK1X and B14R, but that's what would have to be used for factory class.
CZ, Tikka and more recently Bergara seem to be the most popular rifles I see at our ARA matches. I've owned all three brands and my recently acquired B14R is the best shooter of them all. The bolt isn't as smooth as a CZ 457 but I can deal with that. My B14R shot a 2500 at its first match. My 457 Varmint shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yds with SK Rifle Match. Not a direct comparison as my BMR is a .22lr and my Tikka is a .17hmr, I like the BMR as is with only a trigger improvement but the Tikka factory stock had to go. Both are sub MOA rifles with the .17hmr shooting slightly smaller groups which one would expect. The Bergara now wears a smaller Athlon 4-16x scope.Honestly, they're all great options. The Tikka takes weird Tikka mags and switching to an aftermarket barrel would be harder if upgrade path matters. The Ruger has a weird trigger blade and I know the long range version is basically backorder only right now. I did not even have to touch the ejector as of yet but mine is a newer production so not sure if the factory tightened them up somehow or not. Do own a 457 American in 17HMR and love it. If I were to buy a new .22lr today, I would without hesitation get another 457.
