bumtarder. There is a vacuum line that is supposed to go from the nipple on the petcock to the port nipple on the cylinder head where you have it capped off. This allows engine vacuum to operate the petcock. The petcock is normally left to "on" or "res" during normal operation. The stock petcock is automatic.
