Factorio there is no spoon.
The main trick is to not build too big, and get production going as early as possible. A blue circuit assembler that only works 25% of the time and is built at hour 4 is just as good as one built at hour 7 that operates 100% of the time. Building small and fast is better. 2 steel might be a bit overkill though.

You can turn off pollution; that's what I did with my No Spoon run. Turning off pollution is like a semi-peaceful mode: biters don't get aggressive unless you approach them. n_slash_a. • 3 yr. ago. 30-45 SPM is a good number. That is 1 science per cycle on an AM1 or AM2. Works good enough. My other advice is to buffer stuff. This is not recommended for normal play, since it hides bottlenecks. In the No Spoon case, you want to hide bottlenecks.

Slightly correction. This screen is actually only 7 hour and half in. The achievement icon on the top left is for "There is no Spoon" one. I did eventually unlock the 15 hour one after taking this screenshot. Yes I went crazy with burner inserter for my steam/coal power setup and never really stop using them like at all.

But to do that they have all the necessary infrastructure in place.I would have to agree - if you are going for the no spoon achievement you should really have the more common ratios down pat (such as the standard 3-2 copper-green circuit setup, 1-10 gear-red science setup, and the 1-1-12 inserter-belt-green science setup which by itself needs 1-1 gear-inserter, 1-1 gear-belt, and 2-1 coil-green circuit to work well …A slightly larger investment in belts and assemblers and inserters is not going to be very important. Michael Hendricks has a No Spoon on Default Settings guide that manages it in 6-8 hours with 45 science/minute for red/green/blue (5/6/12 tier 2 assemblers) with even less for the yellow and purple science at the end.
