GMC dealer diagnosed this as needing a rear differential clutch at a cost of 3200.00. 2800 for the part (??!!) and 400 for labor.It is a common issue for the torque converters on this transmission to cause shuddering issues. I would recommend attempting to add an anti-shudder additive to see if this helps the issue. This will be a "last ditch" effort to avoid a costly torque converter replacement.
