I questioned if they really were the "good guys" they usually are. And for a video game to have that effect, it has to be a damn good dialogue.

It still is tons of fun to play, because theres much more than just the plot twist, the reason I think it's good is because it has a lot of minor things that make it come alive instead of relying on one plot twist. As someone who played KOTOR 2 first, I would say yes, it is still worth playing.
