It is the battery that supplies the voltage, the alt recharges the bat as it is used but it is the bat that supplies the base voltage. With everything running and the tunes turned down then you should see about 14v.

The '07 through '11 42RLE transmission doesn't pay attention to axle ratio as it has its own internal input and output rpm sensors.
