Using standard litter, I used to have this issue as well. The lr4 would have me change the bag every 24 hours. I switched to a lightweight litter mixed 4:1 with clump and seal slide. And I can leave the thing alone for a week with my 5 cats. I mix it with the slide because the lightweight litter by itself makes a mess of the globe if you don't.
