The main draw for Oanda is that they offer no minimum trade sizes. So you can start an account with $50 and literally trade $1 at a time. Or you can do like 1/5th of a microlot and only risk $0.50 on a trade. Their spreads are also quite good. Otherwise their trading platform is horrible.
With Oanda you shouldn’t be worried about security at all. They are highly regulated by many financial authorities, like Fxview. That’s the broker I am using presently, and they follow the ESMA guidelines under the Cysec regulation. So far I have had a good experience with them, and it’s been over a year now.

Oanda is owned by Citigroup.. they are also known to be crooks - artificially spiking prices to steal from their customers. They've been doing it for 15 years don't expect them to stop, use a better broker. I've had 2 accounts 15 years ago closed by Oanda when I arbitraged their fake price spikes against their own currenex feed.
