The next thing you should work towards getting is the t1 drill and harvester at the vendor near the starting plot. After getting those going work towards adding more automation i.e conveyor belts, sorters, and smelters. If you remove the filters, your machines break faster, but you'd still spend less time fixing things and buying tool bags.
