Replacing fuel check-valve on Wrangler. My wrangler doesn't start on the first try anymore. I turn the key and it just cranks. I wait a second and boom, it starts right up. It was suggested that my fuel check valve has gone bad and needs to be replaced. The factory fuel filter, was installed level horizontally at a height that was slightly higher than the inlet of the carb. It also had a hard-line with a loop in it, between the filter and the carb. Then it would have to be one for a SBC. The old Jeep's with carbs used a mechanical pump that wouldn't fit on a SBC. Sense it's a 95, if the stock pump in the tank is still functional then you just need a pressure reducer specific for carbs.
