It first happened after I parked slightly ontopp and against some ice in a parking spot. When I started my Sorento, it wouldn't go out of park period. I figured out the temporary shift-lock over-ride that is infront of the shifter and to the left and made it home. The coil pulled a spring loaded 3/8" pin back releasing the shift leaver when it was sitting in "park".You could hear it click with the ignition on and the brake pedal was pressed.
