Apothecary white doesn’t make gray under coats white, it makes white under coats gray. Prime in white, use apothecary white thinned with 2:1 with contrast medium, then clean up panels that are too gray with more white. You could use a white primer undercoat and use apothecary white on the recesses.

Given the price of the sw legion miniatures vs a few cents per printed miniature I want to give the troopers and droids a "real" paint job. So I'm following a YouTube tutorial. But I'm already struggling with the white primer. I never used a white primer before. I currently use Matt white primer (Army Painter) with a paint brush.

So really you're just paying the cost of 2 clone troopers (20 pts). Which is what a medic kind of gives you. TLDR; Yes a clone medic is worth 20 pts. My preference is 2 fleet, 4 rebel. If you bring ATRTs, you can go two ways. Take them bare bones (55pts) as mobile cover for your squads, and practice using them to displace the enemy to cause havoc, apply suppression and move them out of cover. Otherwise take Laser Cannons and sit at the edge of range 4 shooting ATSTs.
