Hermetic order is the best late game society in my opinion. Civ vi encourages playing wide. By the late game, the winning civ often controls the most (or at least a lot) of land. Even with bad luck, you will control several ley lines. After the industrial era promotion, your ley lines become super tiles that are even better than natural wonders.
