Towards the end, parts stamped with the New Haven, CT mark were being sent to Remington factories for assembly. These do not have the JM proofmark. If it was a 357/38 then I'd say a grand since the 38/357's always seem to bring more than the 44's. The JM stamp stopped in 2009 when big "R" purchased the company. The last few Marlins that left had the serial number on the side of the receiver like the new Remlins do, but still had a JM stamp on the barrel and no MR serial number prefix.
