Backups getting put in for starters? Context here is every time I make the playoffs and go to play a game, it has all my backups in the game and my starters on the bench. If your fatigue is low, you need to switch to half pads for practice, and even change your practice reps for each position from starters to backups. This will regain your players stamina. Then when you get to the off-season, go into your settings and turn OFF progressive fatigue.
