Personally, I hate shields with the pyro hand. Parries dont do anything cuz of the pyro flame and weapon arts are pretty useless. Chaos Fireball is a close second IF the target takes a tick of lava damage. Dark Pyromancies for enemies hugely resistant to fire. Regular Pyro flame is great and can be used the whole game. Parting Flame is better IF you use things like Great Combustion since it adds a second damaging hitbox at close range.
